Fitbit is synonymous with fitness tracker. Safe to say, it's one of the best on the market. The prices are reasonable, the features are all-encompassing, and there is a Fitbit for everyone, from the gym rat to the newbie. But with so many different options available and new ones launching almost every year, it's confusing find the best one for you.
That's why we've done the work for you, with the key features, the pros and cons, the prices, and why it's perfect for you.
Fitbit Charge 2
With some of the best fitness tracker features available and a good-sized screen, the Fitbit Charge 2 is definitely our favourite. It features a HR tracker, and it's waterproof - two key selling features that won us over. The screen is easy to read and a comfortable size so as to not overtake your wrist, nor are you squinting to read it. But the downside is that you can only use the GPS through your smartphone, and while it's waterproof, it's not compatible to swim with. It may seem like it's on the pricier side for a fitness tracker, but for the price, you're getting bang for buck and that makes it worth it.
Bottom Line: Fitness enthusiast? Want to get a better workout? Get the Fitbit Charge 2 for $199.95 @ Amazon.ca!
Fitbit Alta & Alta HR
Slim and classic, the Fitbit Alta and it's 2nd edition Alta HR provide the most important fitness tracking needs. You can get a heart rate tracker in the Alta HR, and combine that with a 7-Day battery life, it's a pretty sweet deal. The design is sleek and slim, perfect for those who want something that doesn't look too bulky with their everyday clothes. The downside to the design is that the screen is smaller and harder to read. It's on the lower end of the price range as well for the Alta.
Bottom Line: Style conscious? Get the Alta HR for $199.95 on Amazon.ca! Money conscious? Get the Alta or Alta HR, starting at $154.95 @ Amazon.ca!
Fitbit Flex 2
With water resistance and one of the lowest prices, this is the best budget purchase. You lack a screen, but that may be worth it for the price. The 5-Day battery life and waterproof features are intriguing, but what makes the Flex really worth it is that it lets you track swimming! You can get smartphone notifications, but you can't track your heart rate. Reviews claim it's also slow to charge.
Bottom Line? Basic gym rat? Swimmer? Money conscious? Get the Flex 2 for $79.95 @ Amazon.ca!
The newest launch from Fitbit, the Versa is bigger and better, with more features than ever. Resembling the Apple Watch, the Versa features a large screen and a lightweight design. The battery life is only 4 days, but it does track swimming. The GPS has to be used through your phone though. For the price, there's not much more you're getting than the Charge 2 for everyday athletic tracking.
Bottom Line? Advanced athlete? Get the Versa for $249.95 @ Amazon.ca!
Get more than ever before with the Ionic, for the most money too. It has everything - heart rate tracker, waterproof capabilities, 5-day battery life, personal coaching, fully fledged smartphone notifications. The large and bright display screen could be a benefit for some, but be too overwhelming for others. The downside to the fully packed device is that the interface is slower than the others. And, of course, it's the most money.
Bottom Line? Want the best of the best? Buy the Ionic for $399.95 @ Amazon.ca!
