Go Transit Expansion from Kitchener to Toronto

Making your commute easier one step at a time

Go Transit Expansion

There’s good news going into the new year. For all those taking the Kitchener Go train, here is what’s going to change for this route.

The Ontario Government is adding an extra train for the morning and the evening starting January 7, 2019. This is predicted to increase service on the line by 25 percent, according to Minister Yurek.

Not only are there new trains, commuters also have new options for stops in Kitchener, Guelph, and Acton.

The 5:40 am morning train starting in Georgetown will now begin in Kitchener, making stops at Guelph and Acton. The train is scheduled to arrive at Union Station at 7:43 am.

The afternoon train that’s changing is the train leaving Union Station at 3:35 pm. This train will also be extended to arrive at Kitchener Go Station instead of Georgetown Go. The train will make stops at Acton and Guelph Go, arriving at the Kitchener Go at 5:43 pm.

The morning extension will benefit commuters from Georgetown, Mount Pleasant, and Brampton Go stations while the afternoon extension will add flexibility to trips to Bloor, Weston, Etobicoke North and Malton Go stations.

Things will begin to look more efficient and flexible on the Kitchener line in the new year, making your trip planning easier!
