Circles are a shape common in the Maasai culture. From a small bush airplane on a flight across the Maasai Mara, you see the vast plains of the Great Rift Valley below, dotted with the round markings of the traditional bomas or huts, and the larger circular fences around them that keep families and their goats and cattle safe from lions at night. The traditional huts have a facing made from mud and cow dung, and are maintained and repaired weekly by Maasai mamas. Our handmade keychains celebrate this organic boma shape in glass beads and leather.
