Drew Green Drew is founder, ceo and chairman of SHOP.CA and is responsible for overall corporate strategy, sales, marketing and operations. Having spent his entire career connecting online audiences with retailers through digital media, marketing solutions, mobile marketing and marketplace platforms in the United States, Drew is now focused on his homeland, with a vision to significantly improve and ease the online buying experience for the millions of Canadian SHOP*per's that buy online every week.
Prior to founding SHOP.CA, Drew served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Vibes Media. In this role, Drew was responsible for defining, implementing and leading the execution of Vibes' Sales, Business Development and Marketing strategy. With over 14 years of online marketing, eCommerce and sales leadership experience, Drew has a proven track record of results based management and high growth strategy development and execution. Prior to joining Vibes in 2009, Drew was a member of SHOP.COM's executive team since 2005, where he led the sales, merchant operations and business development departments during his tenure, and was responsible for ramping product supply from under 1 million products to over 25 million unique product SKUs from thousands of leading retailers and manufacturers in the US. SHOP.COM'S Marketplace platforms provided demand generation and branding for thousands of retailers and product brands in both the US and the UK. Prior to SHOP.COM, Drew held sales and sales leadership roles with Flonetwork, (acquired by DoubleClick) and DoubleClick (acquired by Google).
Trevor Newell Trevor is founder and president of SHOP.CA, focusing on our social loyalty platform, responsible for overall technology strategy, including product design, build and operations. Trevor also oversees customer care and investor relations.
Prior to founding SHOP.CA Trevor's experience includes global enterprises including ORACLE, EDS and GE, and exponentially growing start-ups/early stage ventures including Janna Systems, acquired by Siebel Systems, and XJ Partners. Trevor's cross-functional breadth includes a range of corporate and operational strategy, finance and marketing, global sales, service, and investor relations.
Prior to founding SHOP.CA, Trevor led Oracle's product strategy for Financial Services Capital Markets & Global Wealth Management. Trevor brings proven customer centric synergies between consumers, businesses and the technologies. Trevor drives SHOP.CA's vision of Canada's Marketplace Platform for Canadians by Canadians leveraging his experience in enterprise and cloud computing, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Social CRM, and mobile. Trevor holds an honours Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada. He is married and has three children.
Gary Black The sales department has very clear ideas about the millions of shoppers, products and transactions it takes to become Canada's largest online shopping destination. Marketing insists on a "second-to-none" shopping experience for our customers. Gary's going to be a busy guy, but what else is new?
Gary is chief technology officer of SHOP.CA and is responsible for the technology delivery including product design, build and operations for SHOP.CA's Marketplace-as-a-Service.
Prior to joining SHOP.CA Gary was General Manager of CDC eCommerce - CDC Software's leading Software as a Service eCommerce platform. Gary joined CDC Software in 2009 as part of its acquisition of privately held Truition Inc. Gary joined Truition in 2006 bringing with him more than 10 years of eCommerce and online marketing experience. Gary provides the leadership for CDC eCommerce's sales and marketing, product development and account management organizations. Gary is a pioneer in SaaS application product management and an eCommerce veteran helping launch some of the first SaaS marketing automation products on the market.
Prior to joining Truition, Gary was Vice President of Product Management and Engineering for the Marketing Automation business unit of DoubleClick Inc. At DoubleClick, Gary led the product development of the company's email marketing platform, DARTmail. In Gary's tenure, DARTmail became the world's largest email marketing SaaS platform and was consistently top-ranked by industry analysts. Prior to DoubleClick, Gary spent 4 years in financial services as a financial analyst and system consultant for Canada Trust's consumer lending product group. Gary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
Mark Daprato After designing and building the most scalable and feature rich eCommerce destination ever launched in Canada, then integrating the largest selection of Canadians favorite brands, products and services, it will be critical we let every Canadian know who we are, that we built something special just for them and why they should SHOP.CA when they SHOP online. We found the perfect person to broadcast our evolution in Canadian online shopping. A marketing professional for 16 years, Mark was most recently at Cara Operations where he innovated on Social Media leadership, brand planning and business building in the challenging retail sector as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Mark was accountable for growth, innovation and technological marketing leadership on the brands he led at Cara.
Mark has extensive experience working in start-up organizations focused on, or closely related to the consumer technology sector. His professional background includes Consumer Marketing at Rogers Wireless where he led The National marketing plans for the consumer segment, including youth, prepaid segments and convergent marketing efforts with other Rogers operating divisions. Mark's advertising experience includes leading national campaigns at Cara Operations, Rogers Wireless, Telus and Clearnet communications. Mark also led the advertising agency selection process for Rogers Communications Incorporated, one of the largest agency pitches in Canadian history.
A graduate of Queen's University, Mark started his marketing career at Young and Rubicam, working on retail, packaged goods and automotive accounts including KFC, Cadbury beverages, Mott's Clamato, the Ford Motor Company of Canada and AT&T Canada. After beginning his career at Young & Rubicam, he moved to an independent firm, Taxi Advertising and Design, where he lead the Clearnet / Mike wireless brand. This experience gave Mark the drive to focus on small compani es that were eager to create value. He joined Clearnet, an emerging wireless company, as a Brand Manager, handling the consumer advertising. Seeing the opportunity to help Rogers position itself as a challenger brand, Mark moved to Rogers Wireless following Telus Mobility's purchase of Clearnet.
Robert Lee As SHOP.CA goes from launch to $1 billion in yearly sales, we knew we'd need a CFO that could handle the steep trajectory. Rob's qualifications were examined thoroughly to ensure we operate like a fortune 500 from the start. Rob joins SHOP.CA from the Medical Council of Canada where he started as the Director of Finance and shortly thereafter lead and grew the organization's core business as Director of the Evaluation Bureau.
Rob oversaw the operations side of assessment enroute to licensure for physicians in Canada. Rob was responsible for all examination and relate services of the Medical Council both domestically and around the world including; the MCC Self-administered Computer Examinations, the MCC Evaluating Examination, and the MCC Qualifying Examination Parts I & II. He lead the automation and global expansion of the Council's Evaluating Examination, the introduction of new web based assessments, and the automation of other business critical solutions. Growth was rapid during Robert's tenure and always with financial excellence and efficiency. Working with the MCC Examination Board, the Provincial and Territorial Regulatory Authorities, and the 17 medical schools across Canada. Robert, in his tenure at the Council, oversaw over 125,000 examinations of physicians at various milestones on their way to licensure in Canada. Robert graduated from Sir Wilfrid Laurier in 1997 with an Honours degree in Business Administration, specializing in finance and accounting. He was awarded his Chartered Accounting (CA) designation in 2000 and worked as a CA in Toronto. While working at the Council, he completed his MBA from Queens in 2005.

Rick joined SHOP.CA in 2011 as Senior Vice President of Business Development and is responsible for creating the relationships and partnerships that put the products on the virtual shelves of SHOP.CA. Rick is a passionate relationship and sales leader with over 20 years of experience creating successful relationships with the world's largest banks, financial institutions, technology and consulting companies. Rick brings deep retail experience to SHOP.CA, having launched software products in the largest distributors and consumer electronics chains in North America. Prior to joining SHOP.CA Rick developed quite a knack for knowing ‘what's next', helping many early stage companies create significant value in short periods of time. He was the seventh employee at Janna Systems, and when Janna was acquired by Siebel Systems for $2 billion Rick managed all global partnerships. After Siebel Rick lead the sales teams at several start-up companies and his direction delivered rapid growth leading to market share leadership and then acquisition. In addition, Rick has global enterprise sales experience from such global leaders as EDS and Oracle.
Rick will work closely with the entire organization to deliver desirable product selection across the brands, retailers and services that Canadian consumers want and need — helping make SHOP.CA the leading destination for Canadian online shopping. Rick holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo and a Business Diploma from Wilfred Laurier University. He is married with one child.
Christian Rodericks For SHOP.CA to work, we knew we'd need someone that could keep it all together. We're thrilled that Christian is connecting with SHOP.CA. Christian brings over 12 years of global consulting experience to clients undergoing large technology transformations. Christian has a long track record of advising Fortune 500 technology executives on their most complex issues and delivering massive technology implementation projects.
Christian's specialties include Technology Strategy, Program Leadership, IT Service Management and Enterprise Architecture. Prior to joining SHOP.CA, Christian held management positions with Deloitte Consulting, Cyberplex, and Janna Systems (acquired by Siebel Systems). Christian's academic background includes a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo and he holds PMP, ITIL and TOGAF professional designations.
Scott Leblanc Building the biggest and best eCommerce site in Canada would be nothing if it did not have a fantastic customer experience. At SHOP.CA we want to delight our customers and give them the best online shopping experience – one that is fun, easy to use and social with their friends. Who better to build a site like that than someone with eCommerce platform, web development and online dating development experience! It's a perfect match! As director of product experience, Scott will ensure SHOP.CA has the best shopping experience anywhere. We are super excited to have Scott on our team and he's going to be one busy guy!
Most recently Scott was Product Owner for Web at Kobo managing the shopping experience across 2 websites as well as multiple mobile and eReader devices. During his time at Kobo Scott also managed and supported external B2B partner integrations including International OEM device manufacturers, newspaper and magazine publishers. Through his 10 + years of web and eCommerce experience Scott has contributed to several revolutionary online products: a pioneering online dating site, one of the first SaaS eCommerce providers and an eBook/eReader marketplace taking on giants. SHOP.CA can now be added to this list.
Scott began his online career as part of the original team launching LavaLife (previously WebPersonals) where he designed user interface enhancements and concepts for existing and new feature sets. Scott later joined eCommerce and auction provider CDC eCommerce (originally eDeal) where he managed the product and web team building key features and market differentiators for both the administrative tool as well as the consumer facing storefronts. These innovations helped to establish an industry leading time to market as well as product features which attracted top tier companies including a Top 3 US bank, Europe's largest computer manufacturer and the largest CPG company in the world.
Mathew Growden It's one thing to build Canada's premier online shopping destination, it's another thing to make sure customers can find what they are looking for, transact and have a seamless experience from start to finish. This is where Mathew comes in, focusing on tightening the virtual bolts on the great machine.
When the planet was cooling and dinosaurs roamed the earth, Mathew was teaching Graduate and MBA students at York University how to use their dial up modems to connect to the internet. Mathew's specialties include e-commerce, product evolution, conversion optimization, customer acquisition & experience, social media, digital marketing, SEO and SEM.
Before joining SHOP.CA, Mathew was helping change the Canadian wireless sector as the Lead for all digital marketing, social media, digital consumer experience, mobile marketing and web operations at WIND Mobile. Prior to that he managed product development and e-commerce operations at Indigo.ca, Canada's largest bookseller.
Parham Mofidi SHOP.CA will become Canada's largest online shopping destination by delivering the most compelling and comprehensive experience for Canadian consumers. Making that happen takes serious development chops. Fortunately the team at SHOP.CA is well prepared and eager to take on such a challenge. As lead software engineer platform, Parham will be extra busy to see that happen. We are in good hands though, Parham is just the guy to help take you there.
Parham joins the SHOP.CA team from CDC Software where he was Senior Software Engineer on the CDC eCommerce platform. At CDC, Parham was instrumental in building out industry leading features, making sure CDC's enterprise customers were running smoothly and keeping CDC at the forefront of SaaS eCommerce. Parham was a key project member like Endeca Site Search implementation, PCI data security, several client system integrations, and many product features with an eye for user experience. Parham is a go-to guy and helped consult Web Developers and Designers, Account Managers, and Customer Support Representatives on new issues and solutions and create roadmap items to resolve in a timely manner. A natural teacher and leader, Parham mentored the new engineering recruits and got them productive quickly.
Prior to CDC, Parham was a Technical Analyst at Infor where he was responsible for supporting Infor's HRM solutions to Fortune 500 customers. Parham's work involved assessing business requirements, mapping those to technical solutions and implementing the solutions in a timely manner and with high customer service. Prior to Infor, Parham led technical analysis projects at Workbrain Inc.. Parham holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from University of Toronto.
Samira Hafezi Engineering an eCommerce site to handle millions of products millions of visits from Canadian's all over the country is no easy feat. Fortunately SHOP.CA has some solid bench strength on our development team. Samira Hafezi is a Senior Software Developer on our engineering team. She's responsible for back end development of our core eCommerce platform.
Prior to joining Shop.ca, Samira was a WebSphere Commerce developer at Nurun where she was part of a team that revamped the HomeDepot.ca website. She was involved in the overall website redesign project as well as several redesigns and creations of micro-sites within the sites, including the popular KnowHow site. She was also one of the lead developers in integrating Alfresco CMS servers with Endeca as well as getting the mobile webservices up and running for iPhone, Android, Blackberry and iPad apps. Samira's expertise meant she became one of the go to people on the team for Endeca related questions and also for setting up development environments for new hires and backup images.
Before Nurun, Samira was a Level 2 support software engineer at the IBM labs where she assisted customers in resolving a wide range of issues related to their WCS implementation, including the WebSphere Application Server and DB2. During her time at IBM, she worked closely with customers in resolving high profile issues, worked with cross functional teams, provided leadership and assistance to new hires, as well as set up new systems and tested fixes provided by the development team. Samira also helped author a DeveloperWorks article about custom tracing in custom code with a colleague while at IBM.
Prior to IBM and Nurun, Samira spent time as a Support Analyst at Workbrain, and a junior developer at a medical software company called Medcomsoft where she designed and developed Crystal Reports reports, upgraded and maintained up to six SQL databases on a daily basis, did a build of th e latest code every day, as well as created XSLT scripts for software integration.
Samira holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from York university. In her spare time she's involved in dance, photography, playing music, travelling, and exercising.
Tualha Khan At SHOP.CA we want to delight our customers. That means having an awesome online experience. Having an awesome online experience means having systems running in tip-top shape and high quality code. Enter Tualha Khan, our Senior Network and QoS Administrator, to make SHOP.CA a well oiled machine.
Before joining Shop.ca, Tualha was Senior Database Administrator at CDC Software (formerly Truition), working in the Network Operations team for the company's SaaS eCommerce platform. Tualha spent more than 6.5 years building and maintaining much of the platform infrastructure there, which is still in operations today, caring and feeding it 24×7 for most of those years. Tualha was there long enough to see the production databases grow from a few meagre gigabytes into terabytes, and the platform growing from half a rack in one datacenter to multiple datacenters spanning multiple timezones and continents. Being a core platform team member, Tualha helped manage the organization's PCI security compliance - achieving Level One certification and maintaining that certification level every year. To do so, Tualha ensured necessary compliance code was followed from a systems and database perspective, worked closely with Development team to guide them with database coding best practices, and managed production deployments and code releases.
Tualha originally hails from New Delhi India, and prior to joining Truition, he worked as Database Administrator at Fidelity Investments in their Indian subsidiary, FESCO. He holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce from Delhi University, India along with numerous IT certifications.
Claire Ford Claire has over 14 years of broad experience in creative design for the web. She has worked with many leading global brands, including Adidas, FTD, Brookstone, Panasonic and Warner Brothers. Her skills have been integral in creating effective eCommerce sites and defining best practices based on ensuring a user-friendly design. Her proven conceptual and design abilities have lead creative visual-design architecture for retail websites from initial concept and launch to operations. This includes all creative marketing and email campaigns.
Claire's strengths include creative direction for multiple disciplines, concept creation, creative strategy, interface design and creating wire frames/UI specs. She has made a career of focusing on on eCommerce, online and email marketing, branding & identity, social networking, online community building and following evolving trends in the industry.

That's why Melani merges her creative marketing and visual communications skills with the all-star team of eComm revolutionaries at SHOP.CA as PR and Marketing Manager. Melani formerly worked as Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Vision Group and has held roles as Creative Director and Event Producer for event properties such as Mercedes Benz F1 Event Series, TIFF, The Gemini Awards Show, The Billboard Awards and several event projects with many globally respected companies in Toronto, New York, Europe and Asia.

Enter Aven Santo Domingo, a versatile technology platform expert with the ability to make technology make sense for all levels of retail, marketing, and IT professionals across the industry.
With over 14 years of experience in marketing technology, Aven has held key roles in Product Management, Solutions Consulting and Client Services at such companies as 80/20 Solutions, Epsilon (AllianceData), DoubleClick (acquired by Epsilon + Google) and Flonetwork (acquired by DoubleClick). Over the course of his career, Aven has honed his client solutions capabilities, implementing email, mobile, social, loyalty and analytics solutions for Fortune 500 companies across North America.
Aven studied Computer Science at the University of Western Ontario, where he won the 1998 OUA national championship for the Mustang's varsity tennis team.
Olivia Horbasz With a keen interest in social media, a great appreciation for superb customer service and a wallet full of loyalty cards, Olivia is thrilled to join SHOP.CA as manager, customer loyalty team, where she will help create the customer loyalty program and team that will ensure customers are getting the best shopping experience possible at SHOP.CA.
Prior to joining SHOP.CA, Olivia spent her time as an online community manager, working on the WIND Mobile account as part of a digital agency. Her days were spent monitoring WIND's Facebook and Twitter accounts, engaging with customers via social networks, trolling the internet for brand mentions and supporting marketing campaigns. Before that, she interned both in Ontario and New York City with Foodland Ontario, Corus Entertainment and Elan Artists. A big fan of the arts, Olivia also spends her time volunteering with TIFF and Theatre 20 and can always tell you the latest news coming out of Hollywood.
Alexandra Baird Alex attended Concordia University in Montreal; where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Anthropology.
While living in Montreal, Alex had the opportunity to enjoy the sensational cultural scene and the great variety of fantastic restaurants, which brought her close to one of her other great passions - cooking. Until recently Alex was employed as a personal chef / caterer with Elle Cuisine Catering in Toronto.
Among Alex's work experiences are a summer placement in the Marketing Department of Via Rail Canada, where she enjoyed the fast paced and customer oriented environment.
Alex is looking forward to her new and exciting position as a customer loyalty representative at Shop.ca. In this role she will have the opportunity to build on the skills and talents that she has worked so hard to develop and refine.
Laura Di Nardo Laura is one of the newest members on the Shop.CA team. She will play an important role on the customer loyalty team.
Prior to joining SHOP.CA, Laura worked in a number of Communications and Customer Service positions for the Royal Bank of Canada, Tiffany&Co., Queen's University, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and the non-profit Right to Play organization. Her communications position for the Right to Play Organization took her to Tanzania, where she worked with the project staff to organize community events helping to promote the organization. Highlighting her resilience and determination, she also managed to climb Mt Kilimanjaro on this trip. With a major in Sociology, Laura is a graduate of Queen's University.
In many of her positions, Laura has been the voice on the other end of the phone. She knows what it takes to provide a strong customer service. She is determined to make you a believer and a Loyal Shopper.
Jordana Usup Jordana joins us from TrojanOne marketing agency where she help managed client services and drove consumer engagement, assisting in the development and delivery of business pitches, and the planning and execution of fully integrated marketing campaigns. She utilized her ingenuity and dedication to complete projects for Coca Cola, Quadrant Cosmetics, Proctor & Gamble, Proximo and most recently, Mattel.
Jordana prides herself on staying up-to-date with the latest shopping and industry trends, bringing her interest and acute awareness to SHOP.CA as our Partnerships Manager. "It's an incredibly exciting time for the development of social and digital media platforms," says Jordana. "There is no doubt in my mind that SHOP.CA will lead the way and revolutionize the current Canadian online shopping landscape."
As our Partnerships Manager, Jordana will manage day-to-day partner relationships to ensure that the priorities of partners align with SHOP.CA while also utilizing her expertise to develop marketing opportunities and administer partner programs. Detail-oriented, diligent, and calm under pressure, Jordana has developed a comprehensive approach to multi-tasking and problem solving to ensure clients are in very good hands.
Katie Eaton Katie's strong skills in customer service come from a genuine desire to help people. Katie attended Western University in London where she majored in sociology and being social. She has worked in a number of customer service roles in the hospitality industry as well as in video production.
Katie enjoys live music, time away from the city and shopping (perfect for anyone working at SHOP.CA!) She couldn't be happier working at SHOP.CA where she truly enjoys interaction with the public and helping people resolve problems.
Roxane Ostrowalker Roxane comes to SHOP.CA with over 10 years experience in customer support and management roles in e-commerce and also has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. She has been responsible for implementing and developing the functions and strategies for customer service departments for 3 start ups. Roxanne has also worked at Live Current Media, bTrendie and The Peacock Parade. Roxane grew up on the West Coast and moved to Toronto 6 years ago. When not working, Roxane enjoys reading, travelling, spending time with friends and live music.
