Drew Green founder and ceo Drew is founder, ceo and chairman of SHOP.CA and is responsible for overall corporate strategy, sales, marketing and operations. Having spent his entire career connecting online audiences with retailers through digital media, marketing solutions, mobile marketing and marketplace platforms in the United States, Drew is now focused on his homeland, with a vision to significantly improve and ease the online buying experience for the millions of Canadian SHOP*per's that buy online every week.
Trevor Newell founder and president Trevor is founder and president of SHOP.CA, focusing on our social loyalty platform, responsible for overall technology strategy, including product design, build and operations. Trevor also oversees customer care and investor relations.
Michael Tait executive vice president Michael Tait started his career in Investment Banking with Gordon Capital in 1996, then the preeminent Investment Bank in Canada. He subsequently worked in almost all facets of the financial industry, including debt and equity financings, divestitures, mergers and acquisitions, going private transactions and initial public offerings at firms such as CIBC, HSBC and UBS. Mr. Tait was also a co-founder of Genuity Capital Markets (sold to Canaccord Financial). Most recently, he was Managing Director, Head of Institutional Sales, UBS Securities Canada. In this role, Mr. Tait was responsible for the origination and global distribution of Canadian equities, serving clients in dozens of countries. In 2010, UBS declared Michael an “Outstanding Performer”, an accolade only afforded to two Managing Directors in the world within this 75,000-employee organization.
Gary Black chief technology officer The sales department has very clear ideas about the millions of shoppers, products and transactions it takes to become Canada's largest online shopping destination. Marketing insists on a "second-to-none" shopping experience for our customers. Gary's going to be a busy guy, but what else is new?
Mark Daprato chief marketing officer After designing and building the most scalable and feature rich eCommerce destination ever launched in Canada, then integrating the largest selection of Canadians favorite brands, products and services, it will be critical we let every Canadian know who we are, that we built something special just for them and why they should SHOP.CA when they SHOP online. We found the perfect person to broadcast our evolution in Canadian online shopping. A marketing professional for 16 years, Mark was most recently at Cara Operations where he innovated on Social Media leadership, brand planning and business building in the challenging retail sector as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Mark was accountable for growth, innovation and technological marketing leadership on the brands he led at Cara.
Robert Lee chief financial officer As SHOP.CA goes from launch to $1 billion in yearly sales, we knew we'd need a CFO that could handle the steep trajectory. Rob's qualifications were examined thoroughly to ensure we operate like a fortune 500 from the start. Rob joins SHOP.CA from the Medical Council of Canada where he started as the Director of Finance and shortly thereafter lead and grew the organization's core business as Director of the Evaluation Bureau.
Rick Belanger senior vice president of business development 25 categories, 100s of stores, 1000s of brands and millions of products through one cart. Man, Canadians are going to love Rick!
Christian Rodericks vice president | marketplace operations Christian is vice president of marketplace operations at SHOP.CA, responsible for merchant relationships, marketplace strategy, technology and supply chain management. Prior to joining SHOP.CA, Christian acquired 15 years of management consulting and startup experience with Deloitte Consulting and Canada’s largest technology IPO start-up, Janna Systems (acquired by Siebel Systems, now Oracle). As the first partner to join SHOP.CA, Christian envisioned and lead the creation of SHOP.CA's Marketplace as a Service (MaaS) platform which now supports over 1500+ stores and 300+ Canadian manufacturers, distributors and retailers. As a member of SHOP.CA's management team, he is responsible for establishing SHOP.CA’s core-values, mission and overall business direction. Christian acquired a Bachelor of Mathematics Degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada and holds ITIL, TOGAF and PMP professional designations. He is married and has one child.
Scott Leblanc director | product experience Building the biggest and best eCommerce site in Canada would be nothing if it did not have a fantastic customer experience. At SHOP.CA we want to delight our customers and give them the best online shopping experience – one that is fun, easy to use and social with their friends. Who better to build a site like that than someone with eCommerce platform, web development and online dating development experience! It's a perfect match! As director of product experience, Scott will ensure SHOP.CA has the best shopping experience anywhere. We are super excited to have Scott on our team and he's going to be one busy guy!
Parham Mofidi director | development SHOP.CA will become Canada's largest online shopping destination by delivering the most compelling and comprehensive experience for Canadian consumers. Making that happen takes serious development chops. Fortunately the team at SHOP.CA is well prepared and eager to take on such a challenge. As lead software engineer platform, Parham will be extra busy to see that happen. We are in good hands though, Parham is just the guy to help take you there.
Mathew Growden vice president | customer acquisition It's one thing to build Canada's premier online shopping destination, it's another thing to make sure customers can find what they are looking for, transact and have a seamless experience from start to finish. This is where Mathew comes in, focusing on tightening the virtual bolts on the great machine.
George Adamidis vice president | crm Bridging the gap among thousands of brands, millions of customers, and even more SKUs is no easy feat, but it's perhaps the most important part of each customer's experience at SHOP.CA. Ensuring consumers learn about what's new, what's on sale, and what's too cool to miss is also a fun part of that SHOP.CA experience, and George gets to plan, execute and measure all components of that customer journey.
George comes to SHOP.CA after working in Digital Marketing and Technology for more than 14 years. Starting at DoubleClick, and moving to Digital Cement, Epsilon, Real Email Consulting, and then ExactTarget has provided the experience and opportunity to work with, and learn from, the best brands in the world including P&G, Pepsi, Dell, About.com, Buy.com, WebMD, AOL, Ritz-Carlton and so many more.
George has a Business Degree from Western University and an MBA from the Odette School of Business in Marketing and International Management, where he was the youngest graduate at just 22 years old.
Kim Miller vice president, brand strategy and partnerships An avid Shopper, past clothing designer for Levi Strauss and Brand Activation expert Kim, is focused on converting brand awareness to tangible sales results. She believes in a holistic approach to marketing understanding the importance of innovation in product development, integrated communication and marketing campaigns never forgetting about that critical last 2 feet at retail (or in our case the last click to checkout) where in store or mobile messaging can make all the difference in a purchase decision. Always eager to grow and learn, Kim jumped at the opportunity to be part of the reinvention of retail in Canada. She hopes to help redefine the online shopping experience for Canadians by applying her curiosity for the dynamics of human behaviour and for what drives purchases.
Prior to joining SHOP.CA, Kim held client services and strategic planning roles at Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi, Bozell and Communique working on Brands like Microsoft, Labatt’s, British Airways, P&G and Kraft. Most recently, Kim was President of Marketing Drive Worldwide Canada, a results driven promotional agency with expertise in “in-store” programs and engaging consumers through experiential events. In that role, she was responsible for defining, leading and implementing Agency direction, driving new business growth and overall agency operations and profitability.
Here at SHOP.CA, Kim will apply her relationship building skills and passion for strategic ideas to lead our Partner Relationships and Cause Marketing Efforts. She is responsible for Partner Programs ensuring that Partner fans and customers are engaged and fulfilling the SHOP HAPPY mission. As part of SHOP CARES initiative to give back in a meaningful way to Canadians, Kim will also lead our Cause Marketing charge.
Samira Hafezi senior software developer Engineering an eCommerce site to handle millions of products millions of visits from Canadian's all over the country is no easy feat. Fortunately SHOP.CA has some solid bench strength on our development team. Samira Hafezi is a Senior Software Developer on our engineering team. She's responsible for back end development of our core eCommerce platform.
Tualha Khan senior network and QoS administrator At SHOP.CA we want to delight our customers. That means having an awesome online experience. Having an awesome online experience means having systems running in tip-top shape and high quality code. Enter Tualha Khan, our Senior Network and QoS Administrator, to make SHOP.CA a well oiled machine.
Joe Stauttener systems administrator Before joining SHOP.CA, Joe was a Senior Systems Administrator at Primal (Primal Fusion Inc.), working on the operations team to manage the production, development, and corporate networks. Much of Joe's time at Primal went to automating server and application deployment for Primal's fast-changing web applications to ensure smooth deploys and a scalable platform with high uptime.
Claire Ford creative director Claire has over 14 years of broad experience in creative design for the web. She has worked with many leading global brands, including Adidas, FTD, Brookstone, Panasonic and Warner Brothers. Her skills have been integral in creating effective eCommerce sites and defining best practices based on ensuring a user-friendly design. Her proven conceptual and design abilities have lead creative visual-design architecture for retail websites from initial concept and launch to operations. This includes all creative marketing and email campaigns.
Andrea Dayco events & marketplace development As the Event Producer and Relationship manager, Andrea’s main objective is to create events and manage partnership that help promote SHOP.CA as Canada’s Number One on-line shopping destination. Her role at the SHOP includes strategic planning, managing and overseeing execution of all event initiatives and ongoing management of relationships with our key merchant partners. This focus on building great partnerships, is done by engaging and educating retailers and customers. Andrea is an accomplished media expert, with over 15 years’ experience in sales, business development and relationship management that has produced a proven track record of success. Her exceptional strengths lie in cultivating existing relationships.
Hadasa Tenneti qa analyst Hadasa joins SHOP.CA with over 6 years of experience in software testing. Hadasa graduated with a Bachelor of Science and has worked in several Quality Assurance roles with a speciality in eCommerce where she has helped fine tune several online and offline products to meet her strict quality standards.
Abdul Ahmad software developer Before joining SHOP.CA, Abdul was a Software Engineer for CDC Software. He worked exclusively on a team dedicated to servicing one of the major clients for the Truition eCommerce platform. This involved building out new features in the platform for the client, working at improving performance for the client's website for both front-end and backend elements, improving the security of the platform, and working to solve customer related issues. Prior to CDC, Abdul also worked at Rogers Communications where he helped build a better system for Customer Representatives to interact with clients and their accounts.
Janice Kutchera corporate controller Janice joins the SHOP.CA family as corporate controller with over 18 years of accounting and finance experience. Having been heavily involved with start-up company, Teranet Inc., Janice brings tremendous expertise in many areas including online processing systems and scaling controls and infrastructure through rapid growth. Over her tenure at Teranet Inc., it became a public company with a market capitalization of $2.5 billion.
Nick Crain financial analyst From the first time Nick set foot in the office it was clear he has boundless energy and an extreme passion to do anything that can help SHOP.CA grow and prosper! Joining the finance team, Nick’s main focus is in accounts payable and to maintain a positive relationship with the accounting teams of partners on SHOP.CA. His work goes well beyond payables though and his experiences from past work and his business schooling from the Ted Rogers School of Business have him deeply involved on the supply side of the business, helping new partners as they integrate their products within the SHOP.CA marketplace. He is flexible and dynamic and a treat to work alongside and has also found himself working in marketing or alongside the customer loyalty team working to enhance consumer’s experience!
Aven Santo Domingo senior manager | marketplace In our ever-expanding SHOP.CA marketplace, we know that it's important to take care of our key relationships in order to optimize the value of our offering for strategic partners and customers alike. Enter Aven Santo Domingo, a versatile technology platform expert with the ability to make technology make sense for all levels of retail, marketing, and IT professionals across the industry.
Michael Bowles senior marketplace manager A rapidly-expanding marketplace means a fast-growing team of suppliers with system integration needs, and Michael Bowles makes it happen. Michael came to SHOP.CA with well over ten years of experience in online retailing, during which he honed his skills in vendor relations, team management, data integration, and content management. Part of the early days of companies such as Chapters Online and Kobo, Michael developed a taste for new and exciting projects with dynamic teams…which led him straight to SHOP.CA. He’s particularly proud to be a part of the SHOP.CA team.
Braulio Lam senior director | process engineering As SHOP.CA goes from start-up to market-leader, we know that we need to continuously improve our engineering processes in order to support that growth and make sure that the train runs on time. Braulio is the man to make sure that we have a state-of-the-art engineering infrastructure so that our engineering team can focus on coding.
Olivia Horbasz customer loyalty manager With a keen interest in social media, a great appreciation for superb customer service and a wallet full of loyalty cards, Olivia is thrilled to join SHOP.CA as manager, customer loyalty team, where she will help create the customer loyalty program and team that will ensure customers are getting the best shopping experience possible at SHOP.CA.
Roxane Ostrowalker customer loyalty team lead Roxane comes to SHOP.CA with over 10 years experience in customer support and management roles in e-commerce and also has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. She has been responsible for implementing and developing the functions and strategies for customer service departments for 3 start ups. Roxane has also worked at Live Current Media, bTrendie and The Peacock Parade. Roxane grew up on the West Coast and moved to Toronto 6 years ago. When not working, Roxane enjoys reading, travelling, spending time with friends and live music.
Laura Di Nardo customer loyalty Laura is one of the newest members on the SHOP.CA team. She will play an important role on the customer loyalty team.
Jordana Usup marketing partnership manager Jordana joins us from TrojanOne marketing agency where she help managed client services and drove consumer engagement, assisting in the development and delivery of business pitches, and the planning and execution of fully integrated marketing campaigns. She utilized her ingenuity and dedication to complete projects for Coca Cola, Quadrant Cosmetics, Proctor & Gamble, Proximo and most recently, Mattel.
Katie Eaton customer loyalty Katie's strong skills in customer service come from a genuine desire to help people. Katie attended Western University in London where she majored in sociology and being social. She has worked in a number of customer service roles in the hospitality industry as well as in video production.
Frannie MacDonald customer loyalty Frannie is the newest addition to the SHOP.CA customer loyalty team. With an extensive customer service and retail background and a passion for problem solving she ensures that you will fall in love with the SHOP.CA experience.
Adam Rosenbaum marketplace operations As a student in the Dalhousie Environmentally Sustainable Business Management program, Adam brings to the table an unmatched passion for e-Commerce, social media marketing and green business initiatives in his role at SHOP.CA as one of the 2013 Summer Partners. Prior to joining the SHOP.CA team, Adam’s magnetic attraction for the great outdoors took him to all corners of Canada including Labrador, northern Quebec, northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, the Yukon and even Alaska on various trips and expeditions. With an insatiable curiosity for learning new things and developing his skill sets, he is thrilled to be a part of the SHOP.CA family and revels at the chance to tackle any task handed to him. In his spare time Adam enjoys writing & recording music, going to concerts, longboarding, biking and surfing.
Shiva Prakash business analyst Shiva is excited to be part of Canada’s most popular shopping destination and fastest growing ecommerce site. Hailing from India, Shiva is one year old in Canada and is currently pursuing her MBA in Strategy and Marketing at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Handling SHOP.CA’s Business Intelligence initiatives, Shiva has dabbled in a variety of different things before finding her niche – chemical engineering, nanotechnology, information technology, business analysis, pre-sales and marketing. She soon realized that she loves shopping more than any of these and wants to work towards helping create a personalized and enhanced shopping experience for shoppers through marketing and customer analytics. When she’s not crunching numbers, Shiva likes to cook and throw impromptu feasts!
Yusra Salama customer loyalty Yusra is the newest member to the Customer Loyalty Team. She has a strong customer service background after having worked in retail for many years. She graduated from the University of Toronto and majored in History and Sociology. Yusra's time teaching ESL allowed her to interact with a diverse group of people from all over the world. Yusra loves to shop, travel and bake! She is very excited to begin her journey in e-commerce here at SHOP.CA!
Andrew Baldanza manager | crm SHOP.CA exists in an online marketplace, where customer attention can be fleeting when pulled in so many directions. Cutting through the noise by delivering our customers relevant, engaging, and click-worthy communications is of the utmost importance. As Manager of CRM, Andrew works to craft and target SHOP.CA messaging, ensuring customers are always apprised of the great value and incredible service that we provide.
Andrew joined SHOP.CA during the summer of 2013, starting as an intern in the Marketing team. While assisting in the design and execution of marketing creative, Andrew demonstrated his talent for copy-writing, email management, and strategic thinking, and joined the SHOP.CA team as a permanent member a few months later.
Andrew's passion for strong visual communications, and focus on evidence-based marketing strategies greatly help drive SHOP.CA towards our goal of transforming the Canadian e-commerce experience.
Jessie Franchuk marketplace operations Jessie joins SHOP.CA after graduating from Queen's University with a Bachelors of Arts Honours degree in sociology. After starting out as a summer partner, Jessie now works with the Marketplace Operations team to bring quality content for the great products, stores, and brands SHOP.CA has to offer. Jessie also helps suppliers with the integration process of getting their stores live on SHOP.CA.
Prior to joining SHOP.CA, Jessie volunteered with the Queen's Health Outreach Program and was a dancer in the Queen's Dance Club. She ended her undergraduate year off with a bang by helping to promote and organize her graduating year's trip to Punta Cana with S-Trip for over 400+ university students. Born and raised in Toronto, Jessie is proud to be part of a true Canadian company!
Alexander Harris marketplace operations Alex is an enthusiastic new member to the marketplace operations team. After finishing his undergrad at Dalhousie University, Alex worked for multiple film companies working both on Tv sets and managing a production office. Eager to learn more, Alex has found his groove with the mark-ops team and is continuously learning new skills and improving on old ones through product and project management, supplier relationships/integration and launching brand new stores. Alex brings enthusiasm, passion and a drive to excel to SHOP.CA and is eager to learn all he can from the amazing team that surrounds him daily.
James Alarcon customer loyalty James attended University of Toronto St. George wherein he completed a double specialist in English and Philosophy. He has worked in various customer service roles in retail and social media marketing companies.
James enjoys singing, writing, thai boxing and social environments of various kinds. He excels at communicating with others to work through problems and has always taken it upon himself to insure that every customer is satisfied.
Jeremy Wike customer loyalty One of the newest members of the customer loyalty team, Jeremy brings 10 years customer service experience to SHOP.CA. Jeremy's years of work in public and private-sector roles has given him a wide variety of experience helping customers. Jeremy moved to Toronto five years ago from Victoria, British Columbia to study Urban and Regional Planning at Ryerson University and Environmental Management as an exchange student at Glasgow Caledonian University in Glasgow, Scotland. In his spare time Jeremy likes to read, spend time outdoors and travel.
Katie Rowlands customer loyalty Katie is the newest member to the Customer Loyalty Team. With an extensive background in customer service, Katie has been working in the hospitality industry for years. She is a graduate from Ryerson University where she studied Sociology, because of her passion for people.
Katie loves travelling, socializing, and of course shopping (perfect for joining SHOP.CA!). She is excited to join the team and help customers have the best experience and ensure they are as excited about SHOP.CA as she is!
