With our free shipping policy, the price you see is the price you pay. Our free shipping policy has some small exceptions, like if you live in a remote area, are purchasing an oversized, high-value or fragile product, but don’t worry, we will always let you know in advance of placing your order if special shipping rates apply.
Remote Locations & Oversized Products
Remote is defined as islands and highlands; a postal code that is difficult to serve; or a suburb/town that is distant, inaccessible or infrequently served. Remote locations are also locations that Canada Post calls Air Stage Locations, places where mail must be airlifted for more than six (6) months of the year.
Some products are exempt from free shipping due to weight and size - these products will be noted as such when ordering on SHOP.CA. These surcharges are based solely on extra charges imposed by our shipping carriers for transporting oversize and/or overweight products.
Oversized products meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Weighs 151 lbs. or more when packaged.
- Length measures 108 in. or more.
- Girth measures 165 in. or more.
- If a product ships on a wooden pallet, regardless of weight (but generally in the 100-150 lb. range), it is considered an Oversized Product.
Frequently Asked Shipping Questions
How long will delivery take?
You can expect your products to arrive within 3 to 7 business days after they've been shipped. Most of our products will be shipped with a tracking number, so you can always look to see where your product is on its journey to you.
Can I upgrade my shipping?
At this time we only offer standard shipping. However, at SHOP.CA we know that getting your products quickly is important to you, so we process your order immediately to make sure your products get on their way as soon as possible.
Can I ship to a different address?
Absolutely! After you proceed to checkout, enter the address where you'd like your order delivered. Then, select the "no" button below, indicating the address you entered is not your billing address.
Please enter your billing address at the next screen, and make sure it's the same address that appears on your monthly statement. For extra precaution and to avoid any possible delays with your order, you may want to notify your credit card company that you are shipping to an alternate address.
Can I ship outside of Canada?
SHOP.CA is focused on providing the best online shopping experience for Canadians, by Canadians, so we currently do not ship outside of our nation’s borders. However, if you live outside Canada, you can still SHOP.CA, you just have to ship to a Canadian address.
Can I give the delivery driver special instructions?
At this time, we are unable to issue special shipping instructions to delivery drivers (i.e. leave package with neighbour, leave package on porch, etc.). You may leave a note for the driver on your door with special instructions; however, the delivery of the package is still at the discretion of the driver.
Once your product has shipped and you have received a tracking number, you can attempt to give special delivery instructions to the shipping company handling your package(s).
Will I have to sign for my package?
For your security, our suppliers may require a signature for delivery. You may leave a note for the driver with special instructions; however, the delivery of the package is still at the discretion of the driver and policies of the courier.
